My name is Johnathan Comer, and I am a wedding, portrait, and documentary photographer based out of Washington, D.C. I currently provide services to clients in Washington, DC; New York City; San Francisco; all of California; and beyond!
My style is a balanced blend of fine art and photojournalism. Since high school, I have had a keen interest in all things photographic. Like most budding photographers, I was amazed at the seemingly magical powers of National Geographic photographers, and was inspired by wildlife and nature photographers, such as Galen Rowell.
By exploring my passion over the years, I have found that weddings, portraits, and simply the "real world" are what my camera and eyes are drawn to the most. Life happens in the briefest of moments, and as a photographer, I strive to illustrate those moments.
My background in photography is quite varied: I have an A.A. in photography from Sacramento City College; I was an Assistant Photography Instructor with Sacramento City College; I led several photography workshops with middle school students at California Montessori Project; I have worked with a wide network of local and national organizations, including Environment America, U.S. PIRG, Clean Water Action, The Progressive Magazine, Sacramento News and Review, and PETA.
